How to connect your Xbox 360 controller


Windows

Wired

  1. Connect a USB cable to your controller.
  2. Connect the other end to a USB 2.0/3.0 or better port on your PC.
  3. Windows should automatically install the correct driver. If it doesn't, make sure you have the latest version of Windows installed.
  4. When it's ready, the Xbox button on the controller will turn on.

Wireless via Xbox 360 receiver dongle

  1. Connect the Xbox 360 receiver dongle to a USB 2.0/3.0 port on your PC.
  2. Turn on the Xbox 360 wireless controller by pressing and holding the Guide button.
  3. On the receiver, press the connect button, which is a circular button located near the middle of the receiver. The light will flash green.
  4. Press the connect button on the controller, which is a small circular button located on the front edge of the controller as you hold it in your hands.

MacOS
